jacob bissell is an artist and scholar currently based in southeast michigan. jacob works at the intersections of sound studies and material culture, with special attention given to the entanglement between sound objects and kinship listening practices in domestic soundscapes.

jacob holds a master of arts in ethnomusicology from the university of north texas. additionally, jacob holds a bachelor of music in music therapy from university of the incarnate word. jacob has had work performed and/or exhibited at san antonio museum of art, flight gallery, jump-start performance company, artpace (san antonio), co-opt research + projects (lubbock), oxo gallery (london), galerija skc and pik attic (rijeka).
